Description

The Alteryx Service fails to start and gives the following error in the Service logs:

...ERROR,23020,AlteryxService,,,,,,,,,"S:\Alteryx\Service\AlteryxService_Client\src\Mongo\Private\PersistenceContainer_MongoDBImpl.cpp: 163. Mongo error: ""Authentication failed.: generic server error"" code: <mongodb:11>"

Environment
  • Alteryx Server
    • Version 2024.1.1.93
    • User-managed MongoDB
      • On-premise, Single node
Cause

The MongoDB Admin Password in Alteryx System Settings is invalid.

Resolution
  1. Open Alteryx System Settings and go to Controller > Persistence
  2. Under Database Type > User-managed MongoDB, go to Database and re-enter the Admin Password
  3. Go through the rest of Alteryx System Settings and click Finish at the end
