Error "The patch you are trying to install is not compatible with this version" occurs when attempting to install a newer patch of Alteryx Server

The following error when attempting to install a newer patch of Alteryx Server
 

The patch you are trying to install is not compatible with this version

Environment Details

  • Alteryx Server
    • 2022.1.1

 
Cause

Cause

 

C:\Program Files\Alteryx\Settings\InstallInfo.ini file has been modified by the previous patch update that appended an underscore and number of patches attempted such as '_1' which will cause the error when installing another/newer patch attempts.   



Resolution

 

 

Resolution


Modify the InstallInfo.ini file removing all after the underscore and save it then re-run the patch installation. This time the installation will run without the error.
