Install Two Versions of Alteryx Designer on the Same Machine

• Alteryx Designer 25.1
• Alteryx Designer 26.1
• Alteryx One App
• Admin installation
• Non-Admin installation

To install two versions of Alteryx Designer on the same machine:

1. Install one version of Alteryx Designer as an Admin installation.
2. Install the second version as a Non-Admin installation.
3. Verify that each installation uses a different installation type (Admin vs. Non-Admin).
   
   

For example, if your organization requires Designer 25.1 for packaged workflows but you want to evaluate Designer 26.1, you can keep Designer 25.1 as an Admin installation and install Designer 26.1 as a Non-Admin installation (or vice versa).

Using Alteryx One App

If your setup includes the Alteryx One App, install the app using the installation type opposite to the second Designer installation you intend to use.

• Use the /ALLUSERS command-line parameter to perform an Admin installation of the Alteryx One App.
• If an Admin installation already exists, use a Non-Admin installation for the second Designer version, or vice versa.

• Installing two different versions of Alteryx Designer on the same machine is supported when one installation is Admin and the other is Non-Admin.
• While it is technically possible to install two instances of the same Designer version, this configuration is not recommended, as the installations may compete for system resources.
