For workflows using R version 4.1.3 and corresponding packages, no changes are necessary. If R Packages are more recent and require a more recent version of R, users will need to upgrade their R version to 4.2.3, and therefore also upgrade Designer (and Server, if the workflow is to be published and scheduled) to version 2023.1 Patch 1 (or more recent version matching the R installer). Please also recall that the version of Server must be the same as or higher than the version of Designer (There are a few versions that have further restrictions, so it's best to also check the Release Notes.) and that we recommend that customers plan upgrades of their production servers and test upgrade versions on a sandbox server in advance.

•  Alteryx Designer
  • Version 2023.1.1.200 (2023.1 Patch 1) or later AND you must run the corresponding RInstaller
    • If you are already running 2023.1, you can run the corresponding Patch Install (e.g. AlteryxPatchInstall_2023.1.1.1.200.exe or later or AlteryxNonAdminPatchInstall_2023.1.1.1.200.exe or later)
    • If you have not already upgraded to 2023.1, run the full installer (e.g. AlteryxInstallx64_2023.1.1.200.exeor later or AlteryxNonAdminInstallx64_2023.1.1.200.exe or later)
  • If you previously had Predictive tools installed, you must uninstall them through the Control Panel first, then run the corresponding RInstaller
  • RInstaller_2023.1.1.200.exe or later or RNonAdminInstall_2023.1.1.200.exe or later
• Alteryx Server
  • Version 2023.1.1.200 (2023.1 Patch 1) or later AND you must run the corresponding RInstaller
    • If you are already running 2023.1, you can run the corresponding Patch Install (e.g. AlteryxServerPatchInstall_2023.1.1.1.200.exe or later)
    • If you have not already upgraded to 2023.1, use the full installer (e.g. AlteryxServerInstallx64_2023.1.1.200.exe or later) See NOTE below
  • RInstaller_2023.1.1.200.exe or later

NOTE: Selecting Install Predictive Tools from the Server Installer will install the older R-4.1.3 version and corresponding Predictive tools. They will also work with Server 2023.1, however if you need R 4.2.3, you will need to uninstall them and run the later version of the RInstaller separately.

1. Follow the instructions in the Help to download the necessary installer package(s) from https://downloads.alteryx.com.
2. If you are already running version 2023.1, either Designer or Server, you can download and run just the corresponding Patch installer to update the software. The image shows only Designer downloads, but If you are patching Server, you'll download and run the Server Patch installer.
    
    
3. If you are doing a fresh installation or upgrading from a prior version, download and run the full installer of your choice.
4. Then download and run the corresponding RInstaller (if you are installing Server, use the RInstaller for Designer Admin).
    
    
5. If you have upgraded Designer or Server and you also license Alteryx Intelligence Suite, then download and run the corresponding version of the Alteryx Intelligence Suite installer as well.  (For version 2023.1, be sure you have build 2023.1.0.17033 or later.)
