Description

When running the Migration Prep Tool to migrate the server database the following error occurs:

No suitable servers found [connection refused on] generic server error

Environment
  • Alteryx Server 
    • All versions
  • Migration Prep Tool
Cause
This error means the prep tool is unable to connect to Mongo.
Resolution
  1.  Wrong non-admin password – please ensure that the password used is the bottom “Password”

  1.  Using the wrong connection string when connecting to User-managed Mongo/ wrong port number (port 27018  is the default) Please ensure the connection string is correct with the correct port 
  2.  Having trouble connecting to MongoDB - Port might be blocked, Please ensure that the AlteryxService is running for the MongoDB to be accessible. Best to do this through Task Manager > Services
